End of year message...

As 2018 draws to a close it’s a good time to reflect on the past twelve months and the positive changes that have happened here at Powell Joinery. 

This year saw the launch of our new branding and website. Working with 6B Digital we developed the tree logo, which represents the natural and sustainable products we use. The environment is important to us and we will continue to shout about the benefits of wood over plastic products for new builds and renovations. 

We have devoted time and investment in our ‘back-office’, implementing in-house systems to manage enquiries, workflow, time management, accounts and stock control.  All of which have improved our productivity and effectiveness to the benefit of our suppliers and customers. 

The team expanded by three as we welcomed new member Francisco (Paco) and the return of Mick and Vicki, after a short sabbatical. 

Paco and Mick have made a formidable team in the Spray Shop. Vicki has taken on the role of business development and customer management. 

Other team changes include:

A promotion for Andy, his ability for understanding and organising jobs saw him take on the new role of Workshop Manager. He is the go-to person for the workshop team. 

Anthony tied the knot in July to Rebecca in a beautiful ceremony at Woodhall Spa. The happy couple enjoyed a luxury honeymoon in Barbados.

Danny became a father in August, with the safe arrival of his son, Teddy. Dan made all the nursery furniture by hand and is the definition of a doting daddy. 

With such a strong team it is no wonder 2018 has been our biggest year-to-date for growth. 

Looking ahead to the New Year we have big plans to expand our existing workshop. This will see the workspace more than double in size!

We will be exploring which industry accreditations clearly demonstrate the quality of our products and implementing them. 

In terms of the team, we plan to reinstate the apprenticeship scheme to support young people trying to get a start in the industry. Additional employment prospects within the company we envisage as, an estimator/surveyor, site fitter, bench joiner and a delivery driver. Most of all in 2019 we are determined our customers will continue to receive a personal, efficient service and high quality products!
